Our Equipment

Newbury Bride Video uses the latest digital equipment . We shoot with a number of formats including DVC PRO, DVCAM and Mini-DV. We use the professional style full size professional digital cameras, the same type of camera and quality that you would find at all the Boston TV stations. These cameras provide a much better, more colorful picture than many of the small palm cameras that some video companies use. In addition our cameras are excellent in low light situation that you often find in churches and reception hall. We provide you as well with peace of mind, as we attend every wedding we videotape with backup gear.

What’s it all mean? Well the bottom line is this. Whoever you hire for video, make sure they’re using at least half inch chip digital cameras. Why? Because this type of camera provides a better, more colorful picture and is usually very good in low light. Also make sure they are using professional grade wireless microphones. But whatever you do, don’t hire on equipment alone.

Review any production companies work to see if it’s what you want for your wedding video. Watch to see how their tape flows from scene to scene. Is it choppy or smooth? How clear is the audio? How does the video look in low light?

But after you get by the equipment, a key point is their style and creativity. It’s great that a company has quality equipment but how well did they shoot that footage and how creative will they be when they edit it? It has to flow, it has to sound good and usually to make you happy, it has to have a spark of creativity and style.

As important as good equipment is, the person behind the camera is as important as the camera itself. If you like their work, their style, their attitude, their equipment and you have a good gut feeling:..then that's your video company.
